The Samaritan Counseling Center has created a new social media website, RecognizeGood.com with a mission to elevate the world’s spirit of community by creating a public forum in which to reward, acknowledge, and promote acts of kindness and unselfish charity.

Their vision is that one act of kindness will encourage other acts of kindness and that RecognizeGood will become a movement to lift the spirit of our nation and light the fire of benevolence in our world.

Ultimately, their goal is for RecognizeGood’s impact to extend far beyond our city and provide a sustainable source of funding for the exceptional “good” provided by the Samaritan Center and it's partner charities — including the Austin Children's Shelter — an innovative way to encourage philanthropy while we strive to meet unprecedented demands in trying times.RecognizeGood.com is now the easiest way to thank a friend, a colleague, a volunteer, a donor, a family member or someone on the street for any act of kindness. 

RecognizeGood.com is an online public forum where anyone can reward, acknowledge and promote others for their acts of kindness and unselfish charity.  The site allows a user to automatically send an email to the honoree and, once accepted, the message is posted online to publicly recognize him or her for a recent good deed.

At the RecognizeGood level, the easy process is FREE and provides a small donation through sponsorships to the Samaritan Center.  Users can upgrade to a RecognizeGreat level and make a contribution to the Samaritan Center that will be shared with another local nonprofit. Sponsoring companies match the donation and the honoree chooses a partnering nonprofit organization of his or her choice to benefit.
 
Honor a friend or a loved one on RecognizeGood.  Lift the spirit of someone you love and appreciate. Say thank you for a simple act of kindness or express your heartfelt gratitute to someone who changed your life.  Anyone who provides any service may be recognized: staff, teachers, volunteers, co-workers.  Anyone you see doing a good deed or act of kindness can be recognized.
