Since
1984, the Austin Children's Shelter has provided emergency shelter, high
quality care and hope for the future to the abandoned, abused and
neglected
children of our community. Now with
expanded programming offering long-term care and transitional living
services, ACS
can have a sustaining, positive effect on young lives. The Shelter
provides a variety of critical
services and programs to lay a foundation of hope for the future of
children,
teens and young adults in need of a safe haven.

AUSTIN CHILDREN'S SHELTER OPENS LONG-TERM COTTAGE FOR BOYS
We are now offering long-term care and transitional living services to older teens and young adults who are “aging out” of foster care. The Therapeutic Living Center for Boys sponsored by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation is now open. Traditionally providing only emergency short-term care, the opening of this cottage marks a significant expansion in programs by adding services specifically for this population of youth.
