Volunteers are a crucial part of the Shelter’s ability to provide quality care for the children. We have two strong volunteer programs -- Shelter Volunteers or become a member of the ACS Guild.

Thank You, Volunteers!

April 18 – 24 was National Volunteer Week.  We always take advantage of this spotlight week to thank and recognize the many volunteers who give so selflessly of themselves.  We rely on volunteers to lead the agency through the Board of Directors, raise funding and provide staff support through the ACS Guild, and help our program staff care for the children and youth.

On April 22, we hosted our annual volunteer appreciation party and presented awards for outstanding volunteers in six categories.  In addition, Luise Irby was recognized for 10 years of service while Ferne Mizell and Rich Tyson were recognized for five years of service.
