Fostering is one of the most generous, loving, and needed actions you
can take to have a direct impact on the cycle of abuse that all too
often traps generations. Most children and youth in foster care have
been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect and need the
care of a loving foster family or parent. At Foster in Austin, a program
of the Austin Children's Shelter, we partner with couples and
individuals who want to help break that cycle by providing temporary
nurturing and safe homes for children and youth in the foster care
At ACS we have been responding to the individual needs of children
who have experienced trauma and loss and we can provide a continuum of
care by our trained and caring staff. Our commitment to providing the
best possible care for children and youth extends to our foster parents
through a robust and responsive support system.
