Four Seasons Hotel, Austin
Our annual gala this year will be like no other. Please join us on November 6th for
a song-filled evening of rustic elegance at our 2010 Gala -- A Season of
Song. As the title implies, it will be a night of musical celebration. An intimate circle of singer-songwriters
features local artists Noelle Hampton,
Randy Weeks, Austin Collins, John Dee Graham and Erin Ivey. Each will perform a favorite from their
repertoire and share stories about the inspirations and origins of their
music.
Following the live auction, which features one-of-a-kind
items such as “Chief for a Day” with Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo, Jack
Ingram, a Texas-born songwriter and performer takes the stage. Winner of the 2008 Academy of Country Music award for “Best New Male Vocalist,” Jack
Ingram’s first country Top 40 hit was "Wherever You Are" -- a number
one hit on the Billboard country charts in 2005. It’s been followed with six more songs making
the country Top 40. 
After a sublime dinner prepared by Executive Chef Elmar
Prambs, local band Stonehoney provides a country rock sound that will sure to
cause even the most resistant to get on the dance floor. Michael Corcoran with the Austin
American-Statesman says that “Stonehoney could already be the best country rock
band in town” and states that there’s a lot of talent here.
But the heart of the evening is about making a difference in
the lives of children and youth who have come from abusive homes. Gigi Bryant, Governor-appointed chairwoman of
the Department of Family and Protective Services Council, is our guest of honor
for the evening. She will share her very
personal and poignant story of triumph over tragedy and how she aims to help
foster children.
