Accounting Clerk
Part Time
The Accounting Clerk position at the Austin Children’s Shelter (ACS) will be directly responsible for performing a variety of general accounting support tasks. Major responsibilities include performing a variety of complex clerical and entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports. Work hours will be Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm but are flexible. High school diploma and minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an accounting clerk. Must have basic proficiency in use of computer software including Word, Outlook, and other similar programs. MIP & ADP knowledge preferred.

Cottage Manager for Adolescent Mother and Child/Early Childhood 
Full Time
This position will be directly responsible for the overall program and staff leadership for their designated cottage. Major responsibilities include staff supervision, program development and case management for ACS residents of the adolescent mother and child and early childhood program.  This program provides residential services to teen mothers placed at ACS with their child/children and unaccompanied children under the age of 8 (placed without parent). Work collaboratively as a member of the Shelter team and strive to ensure that assigned Youth Care Workers are equally committed to the agency mission and guiding principles. Directly engage with ACS residents and help to plan daily activity schedules, assessment and diagnostic treatment, safety planning and implementation, and conducting crisis interventions with clients. Work hours will vary depending on need and can include overnight, weekends and on-call.   

Minimum qualifications must be met. 
Graduation from an accredited 4-year College or University with a degree in social service related field required. Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience with residential child care experience serving a broad range of ages from infants to teenagers, with experience with teens preferred.
              OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work or other human services field; prefer specialization in children and families. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience with residential child care experience serving a broad range of ages from infants to teenagers, with experience with teens preferred.

Cook
Part Time
The Cook is responsible for meal preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner; including hot food preparation, cold food preparation, and baking as well as delivery of the meals to the cottages. The work days will be on weekends and the 15 – 20 work hours per week will vary depending on need. Individual must be flexible with work hours to cover vacations and have the ability to work independently. Requires a minimum of two (2) years experience as a cook in a restaurant or institutional setting. Experience in residential facilities for children or youth preferred, but not required. Must have current food handler’s permit and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures required by city, state and/or county health department regulations.

Youth Care Worker
Full Time
Work with children and young adults (infants to 21 years) in an emergency shelter and transitional living youth care setting. These individuals provide direct care programs and services to assigned children or young adults and implement all aspects of individual case plans in a timely manner. Full-time positions working 4 days per week, Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday, 9 hour shifts: 1st (6am - 3pm), 2nd (2pm-11pm), and 3rd (10pm - 7am). Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree in social work, criminal justice or other social sciences field. OR Graduation from high school or completion of an accredited Graduation Equivalency Degree program, plus a minimum of one (1) year experience working with children.

Youth Care Worker
Part Time
Work with children and young adults (infants to 21 years) in an emergency shelter and transitional living youth care setting by transporting our children to scheduled activities, doctor's appointments and school. When no transporting is required, the individual will float as a Youth Care Worker providing direct care programs and services to assigned children or young adults and implement all aspects of individual case plans in a timely manner. Part-time positions working 25 hours per week Monday-Friday, 5 hour shifts: 1st (6am-11am or 7am-12pm), 2nd (3pm-8pm or 5pm-10pm).

OR Graduation from high school or completion of an accredited Graduation Equivalency Degree program, plus a minimum of one (1) year experience working with children.

Youth Care Worker
PRN
Work with children and young adults (infants to 21 years) in an emergency shelter and transitional living youth care setting to provide direct care programs and services to assigned children or young adults and implement all aspects of individual case plans in a timely manner. PRN positions: must be available to work a minimum of 32 hours per month (4 shifts of 8 hours) and any shift: 1st (6am-3pm), 2nd (2pm-11pm), or 3rd (10pm-7am). Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree in social work, criminal justice or other social sciences field.
OR Graduation from high school or completion of an accredited Graduation Equivalency Degree program, plus a minimum of one (1) year experience working with children.
